Nah, I didn't think you were. You're definitely not alone in disliking Tingle though. There's a reason why a lot of Westerners find Tingle very annoying. I guess sometimes cultural preferences don't cross boundaries.Cherri wrote:I wasn't trying to start any Tingle hate or anything. He just creeps me out and steals force gems and rupees from me which greatly upsets me.

Thank you! I couldn't remember for the life of me. Definitely. Him and his tiny violin. Heheheh.Destinie wrote:Makar is a Korok. :3 And is super adorable. I get warm fuzzies when he plays his little violin.

And @Joe: Awesome. I'm not sure if it has to do with being a westerner or not. Dude shouldn't touch my force gem/rupees. Still thank you for understanding that I wasn't trying to start anything.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
It may or may not. However, Tingle's more aligned with Japanese cultural preferences of humor and his actions aren't as amusing to Western cultural preferences of humor.Cherri wrote:And @Joe: Awesome. Re: The Legend of Zelda
That's really interesting - I've never liked Tingle, and I kinda thought he'd be universally disliked. I never even considered cultural differences, but it seems obvious now that it's been pointed out to me. I just googled this and I like that there's actually a trope named after him.Joe wrote:It may or may not. Re: The Legend of Zelda
I never really thought of cultural differences either. Not something I always pick up on. Wow, his own trope.
I have a question and it's probably a silly one. Why does Navi leave at the end of Ocarina of Time? Was her quest done? Was her life coming to an end? Did someone say they didn't believe in fairies? I never understood why she left. Of course maybe if I beat the game (all I have left is to go up the tower for Ganon) and sit through the ending I might understand. Or does Navi leave because Link's history reset and she doesn't know him? Does it explain it in Majora's Mask?

Re: Navi:
SPOILERSPOILER_SHOW
Navi simply left because her job was done and she wasn't needed anymore. She was never really Link's fairy from the start and was only supposed to accompany him on saving Hyrule. In Majora's Mask, Link sets out to Termina to "find a dear friend" and it's heavily implied that the friend is Navi.
Re: The Legend of Zelda
Alright, thank you so much Joe. That clears somethings up. And I apologize for spoiling part of Ocarina of Time as I'm not actually sure everyone has played it. So I am sorry if I spoiled it for anyone, I wasn't thinking.
Another question! Sometimes Ganon is killed other times he is sealed but he always shows up again, sometimes as a piggy or a man or what looks like the combination of both. Would that mean he reincarnates like Link and Zelda? I know Link and Zelda have their own descendant line where they show up again, so I always figured it was a reincarnated-descendant. So does Ganon do that too? given he has the Triforce of Power.

Re: The Legend of Zelda
Well, Ganon = pig, Ganondorf = man. Ganon is Ganondorf's true form. I think they've always been the same person... And (Skyward Sword spoilers)Cherri wrote:Another question! Ganondorf is the reincarnation of Demise's hatred and Demise has cursed Link, Zelda, and their descendents so that his hatred will follow them forever
