I liked it because it was like Digimon, it felt like a nice addition somehow, even if it wasn't Digimon. The rabbit grew on me. XD

Kiel and I were talking about Mamono Hunter Yohko recently so I decided to rewatch it the other day. It was wall-to-wall early 90s nipples and awful pop music. In other words, it was fantastic.

I miss 80s/90s anime. Hard.

Same here ^^ I've watched a few newer series, but most of my favorites are still 90's anime.

Mamono Hunter Yohko was fantastic. I remember the first episode deceived me because it was slightly scandalous (for my young mind, anyway), leading me to think it would be a softcore La Blue Girl. But every episode after the first was harmless. Leave it to 90s anime to bring out the shameless side of a viewer.

I'm probably just showing my age, but yeah, the newer stuff just doesn't hold a candle to the older stuff. Yohko is one of those OVAs you should definitely watch, if only to say "So I finally saw Mamono Hunter Yohko". As Ava said, the first episode is the most risque, while the rest only have the occasional nipple. It won't change your world, clearly, but it's fun to reflect on. Not to mention that seiyuu are great and the animation is pretty decent for the period.

I'm now re-watching Nadesico because my new box set arrived yesterday. I can finally get rid of my crappy old DVDs now that I have glorious remastered quality video! Nadesico is one of those series I enjoy despite the fact I hate pretty much the entire cast. I think it's a 90's thing.
