Miiverse 3DS

Post by Todd »

If you guys haven't updated your systems yet, do so! Miiverse is now available for 3DS. It was previously only available for Wii U. Anyway, the reason I started this topic...

How pointless do you think Miiverse is? They won't let us exchange friend codes or message other users. What other reason would one want to use a social network within the gaming system if not to play games with others? You can post little notes about the games you're playing, but they make it a pain in the ass to even find friends you already know on there.

The reason? The Swap Note Scandal. I wish Nintendo would let parents parent and stop restricting the rest of us because of kids.

I got the update but I haven't tried it out yet. Sounds like I don't even want to use it.

That sounds terrible. Why would I get it, if I can't interact with you guys? Wait what swap note scandal? I never heard of this.

When Pokemon X/Y released, kids went online in mass and starting posting their friend codes online. Predators used this opportunity to friend these kids and start inappropriate relationships with them through Swap Note on 3DS. Child Porn was passed through Swap Note. It's ridiculous.

It's sad, and I understand why Nintendo would feel the need to restrict things, but remove the photo-sending function if anything, not restrict the rest of us adults who have been using it appropriately. I used to send notes to my brothers in another state using Swap Note.

As far as Miiverse, I played around with it more and it is pretty cool. I'm still disappointed it is so restricted, but for the sake of having discussions on levels or games with others playing it, it works.

I did hear about that but I didn't realize everything that was involved. That's horrible! D:

It's always that small group that ruins it for the rest of us. Ugh. I haven't updated yet but maybe I'll do it now! I still have yet to post my 3DS friend code, too lol

Why are we getting punished for some jerk's mistake? Not fair. I'm updating now. Though a lot of parents would rather their kids play the 3DS instead of bother them. Daddy Nintendo and Mama TV. *sigh* I'll look into this Miiverse thing as well.

Haha, so my 3DS got the update for Miiverse 3DS and even though I downloaded it, I'm not up to doing anything with it.

It's pretty scary how much of our lives and information are available to many people on the Internet...

Yeah I got it too but I haven't done anything with it. Not like I'm really that interested in doing anything with it either.

Dude, Nintendo has been asking me for so much info lately. I'm no longer comfortable with giving out information like my birthdate and when they asked me for my zip code for eShop, I was like, HELLLLLL NO and gave them a different location from where I live. This is the problem with SNS.
