@Sarah I'm not too much of a CLAMP fan, either.

I did like Wish and thought xxxHolic was very interesting. :D

I like a lot of CLAMP's titles because they tend to challenge the social norms (having almost explicitly stated gay characters for both genders, testing adult/child relationships, and a bunch of morality issues with their titles). And because they are all successive female manga-ka making non-shoujo titles on the side, which I like to support.

My favorite title from their work is Magic Knight Rayearth, though honestly, I actually like the anime more than the manga. I'm not entirely sure why MKR is my favorite, other than the fact that their "magical world" concept was an interesting approach to a cliched topic.

Though I'm a little disappointed with CLAMP since I heard with what they've done with the Blood + anime (I forgot the new title, but it was based on that series). It felt like girl torture porn with too much unnecessary fanservice than even Chobits.

@Varen - lot of people see Blood-C as connected to Blood+, but it's not true, Blood-C is a blood franchise, but as how Saya from Blood+ is not Saya from Blood, as is not Saya from Blood-C. That's the main problem of the Blood-C, it gets judged because being of the blood franchise, but sometimes we forget, that even if it is from the same franchise is not the same series. But yeah, I agree with the fact of fanservice, unfortunately some series have to have that ==

Another CLAMP fan here.. while they often leave me with bitter taste in my mouth! ç_ç They're pure genius but they are way often seriously mean in their stories! But I think that we love them also cause of this.

Anyway I like: MKR, Kobato, XXXHolic, X1999, RG Veda, Chobits, Card Captor Sakura, Tsubasa Chronicle, Tokyo Babylon. I
t mean almost all those I read. I recently bought Gate 7 and I find it way good! However among these my favourite title is still MKR since I grew up with it and its heroines!
My second favourite is Card Captor Sakura for the same reason while the protagonist isn't my favourite, but it's impossible not to adore Sakura while I don't feel she is my top favourite there! :)

I'm not really a fan. I kind of liked Magic Knight Rayearth, but I actually only know it from the old SNES RPG game. I watched like one episode of the series and never got around to watch any more though it is still on my plan to watch list. Mokona is cute.

I also watched Chobits and thought it was okay. Never finished Cardcaptors, but Kero was cute and I liked Sakura's costumes.

I'm only familiar with Cardcaptor Sakura and Kobato. I did read TSUBASA RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE but stopped around chapter 8. And then come plot reveal I didn't even understand what was going on anymore.

I want to read the Cardcaptor Sakura manga someday. I did read Kobato. but I was pretty confused after reading it. Was it supposed to be an accompaniment to the animated adaptation? It just seemed like the animated adaptation had more closure than what I read from the manga.

I'm pretty lukewarm about CLAMP. I like a couple of their earlier works. Cardcaptor Sakura and Magic Knight Rayearth are some of my favorite series. Their anime adaptions are good too.

Their later works are a mixed bag for me. I liked Angelic Layer but couldn't get into Chobits. I really gave up on CLAMP with Tsubasa. I was okay with the whole crossover thing, but it seemed to drag and get downright weird for my tastes.

GET OUT, don't even get me started on this. I'm still confused over the Tsubasa being Tsubasa thing.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that their series are mainly for adult people if that's what you wrote, though I think I know what you mean and feel similarly about it. I guess a better way to put it would be that while many of their series are specifically geared towards shoujo and shounen demographics, they contain subtle mature themes (and the questioning of social norms as Varen mentioned) and subtle body language that you might not be able to fully grasp until you're older, which is why it's still appealing to revisit them as adults. About half of their best-known works can be thoroughly enjoyed by the younger audience after all, such as Angelic Layer, Magic Knight Rayearth and Card Captor Sakura.

I read a lot of CLAMP's work and enjoyed them, in particular Cardcaptor Sakura and X. I remember being super happy when they announced Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE and that Sakura & Syaoran would be two of the main characters, so at first I read mostly for them, but after a while I started appreciating the series as a whole (despite going wtf at times).

Also, while I was able to get through the Chobits manga pretty easily, I've tried watching the Chobits anime twice (with a few years break inbetween), but I still wasn't able to finish it. I don't know, somehow I kept dropping it halfway...

I never got around to finishing the Kobato anime, but the manga ended decently in my eyes. Although maybe it's because I'm used to CLAMP's timeskips and not knowing what exactly happened inbetween |D;;

I definitely agree with what Lethe said. I read many of CLAMP's works when I was younger and could understand what they were about. However, there were certain things I only discovered/realized/understood better after I reread them when I was older.
