Photoshop Woes

For some reason, my fonts are appearing super huge, even at 2pt. I'm trying to make the font size small for buttons and things. I have no idea what happened, but Photoshop does this quite often. Do you guys know how to fix it?
I read somewhere that it's about DPI, but I don't know what to set my DPI to for a standard web image. Everywhere I read discusses printing.
Thanks for the help in advance!

I get that sometimes, so I just switch it from using PT to PX instead. That usually fixes my problems. Let me know if that helps.

Todd, it's a DPI setting. Web graphics should be at 72dpi. When I sometimes open an image, they are at higher DPIs and it sometimes messes with my new image settings. You need to go to edit > image size and reset the image size to be 72dpi. Most pixel fonts for buttons are around 8px.
