What *is* this game? I thought it was an anime?

Great question~ It is also an anime. It started as a 3DS game by Level-5 and soon became an anime and a phenomenon in Japan. It currently has 3 titles in the main series and several spin-off titles.

The game focuses around a young girl or boy who receive a watch that allows them to see Youkai (Japanese cryptids, spirits, creature of folklore, etc.) and befriend them. It's been compared to Pokemon and is a member of the monster-catching genre. Though you don't "capture" them, you befriend them and earn their medals which allow you to summon them at will.

I have the game but haven't gotten around to getting a charger for my NN3DS so I can't play it ^^;; I'll probably get motivated to go get the charger when I run out of games on Vita and Steam, so I'll definitely be playing it eventually.

I was mistaken; I don't think we're getting this in February, but in April. =_=

I haven't finished the game yet so I have not replied here yet, but I love it! It's pretty much the monster hunting game that I've been waiting for. Super active, quirky plot, adorable characters.

Some of the Yo Kai have some super questionable designs though. Like some of the people designs can seem SUPER weird, especially Hungramps (I love him though hahaha) and the old women one (name escapes me right now omg). And the butt one. That one makes me laugh so hard omg

I think I'll play this today. I have some favorites, but they're nothing too exciting! Jibanyan is adorable, and he's probably my current favorite because I love "PAW OF FURY."

My husband loves Cheeksqueek. I befriended one and named it Buttface because it's literally a buttface and it does crack me up, too!

Who is on your team right now? Currently I have:

Espy, Frostina, Komasan, Jibanyan, Bloominoko, and Hidabat. It's hard for me because I keep finding ones that I like but I don't like to keep switching up my team. :(
