Fave Navigation Style of the Moment: Fixed Horizontal Navbar

YAY fixed navbars!! *pompoms*

You can see this style in action on my main domain--for Version 14, I discovered how to make a navbar "stick" to the top of the page so it would scroll with the user, and I'm pretty much in love with it. LOL

The main reason I like the fixed navbar so much is that it solves one of my biggest pet peeves in webdesign--having to scroll all the way up to the top of a long page to get back to the navigation. I wanted to spare my users that frustration, so I piddled around trying to figure out a simple, non-Javascript way to make it work till I found this.

I know it's not mobile-friendly (that'll be my challenge for V15--a mobile-friendly layout! GASP!), but what do y'all think of this navigation style?

Very convenient for navigating, I like it! :) works fine on my iPad, too.

Lol! My screen resolution must be tiny compared to your work screen--I have to scroll a tiny bit on most of my domain pages. :D

Glad to hear it looks good even on an iPad--I hadn't tested too much on mobile except for my iPhone, which means a whole lotta zooming going on, :P

Ohh I love the fixed nav-bars! Especially the ones that seem to "snap" to the top of the screen as you scroll down. I want to implement these more in my designs in the future and break away from a lot of designs that I feel are out-dated (for me, personally). In general I want to put more effort into making my layouts.

I also really like sidebar sub-navs.

Awesome! Yeah, I keep trying to teach myself new webdesign tricks (with about 60% success rate, LOL), and this is one I like. I would love to learn how to do the ones that "snap" up to the top of the page, but I think that involves some jQuery and other scary languages I don't understand. xD

I finally figured out how to do a simple sidebar sub-nav one time, using several PHP include files (those things are such a blessing!!)--do you make yours the same way?
