OH YES I have the Epic Yarn soundtrack! I never finished the game (was playing it with someone else, I don't have a Wii) but that was a good game and had a very good soundtrack. 8)

How's the Kirby Dream one? Any notable examples?

Kirby Dream soundtrack is a mix of a bunch of different Kirby songs through the decades. I am fond of the Epic Yarn pieces and the first few have the original music from the gameboy game. XD

Oh! I got this in the mail yesterday: Image We totally forgot we ordered it with our Nintendo points earlier this year and it took them until December to ship it. Merry Christmas to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Hehe. Destinie, the same exact thing happened to us! I've yet to peal the plastic off and open it though.

Ahhhhh! It's so good! It made me start playing Majora's Mask, finally. I like the Deku Palace theme a lot. XD

I don't know if we'll ever get through Majora's Mask. It's stupid hard. XD And we own the strategy guide! Though I think I'll put the soundtrack on my computer and then devices, so I can at least hear the music.

This is the part where I yell about the Final Fantasy VI OST.

No, but seriously, it's really good, and I can't say enough good things about it. Despite being released 20 years ago this year, it's still the best video game music I've ever heard. Every single one of the 14 playable characters has a theme song, there's a 20-minute opera, the final boss music is the most epic thing you've ever heard, and the ending theme is a gorgeous medley of the music from the game.

What I'm actually going to recommend, though, is Balance and Ruin, a fan remix collection of the soundtrack. They had a very successful Kickstarter, and the resulting soundtrack is utterly incredible. Just go listen to it.

(i am a little crazy about this soundtrack forgive me)

Nothing wrong with being crazy about a soundtrack Larissa! I'm the same way when it comes to the World of Warcraft soundtracks. Love them so much! <3

I've heard of that soundtrack (OCRemix is amazing) I've never actually listened to it though because I'm not a big FF fan *hides*. I may have to break down and download it though.

Hello, bumping this because I, too, love video game music, and was not a member here when this post was active! I was listening to all of your songs that you posted, and I loved them all! I love video game music and listen to it usually as my background. It can be great for productivity and motivation!

Here are some of my favorites!

1. I LOVE the UnderTale soundtrack. It's SO GOOD. It's probably one of my top soundtracks. It's amazing, and it was all mostly created (and composed) by one guy! My favorite songs include:
Megolovania
Spider Dance
Water Fall
Hopes and Dreams
A lof of these are pretty upbeat, while I prefer more mellow music. But they're really good.

2. Another one of my favorite soundtracks would be the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword one. It's my most listened to soundtrack. I really like Follow Fi and The Goddess Sword. They both have a similar feel to them, but I really love them both.

3. I love the music from Super Mario RPG! It makes me feel so nostalgic. I really like this orchestrated remix.

4. Splatoon has some awesome music in it too! It's mostly upbeat and fun because of the gameplay, but I love the credits song. I also love the making of video! The girls that sing as the Squid Sisters are super adorable.

Some other honorable mentions:
Casino Night from Sonic the Hedgehog 2
This song from Fire Emblem Fates *end game spoilers maybe?*
Story of Seasons Autumn Theme (this song reminds me of Azura's song from FEF a bit too)

I'd love to hear what you all have been listening to recently! I'll probably be back to post more songs that I love and don't wanna double post. ;)

Aaaaa I love a lot of video game music, too! :D Most of the Super Mario RPG soundtrack is awesome! (though don't listen to Second Battle with Smithy when it's 4am and you are a highly suggestible 12-year-old playing through the boss fight...seriously that music still makes me all tense LOL!!) My favs from SMRPG are Got a Star Piece and Seeing Dreams through the Window of the Stars, though I also like Fight Against Bowser and Fight Against Culex.

Even though I've never played the games, I also love a lot of the music from Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger; my favorites are The Girl Who Stole the Stars and Time's Scar. (One of my old online friends sent me the tracks back in the day when I first was on fast internet at college, which is also how I know about this beautiful track from FFX. <3<3<3)

@ Robin: The Smith music IS intense! The final phase of Smithy always freaked me out as a kid too! I love all of the songs you posted too. ESPECIALLY the Culex one! What a great song. I think it also appears in one of the FF games, but I don't remember which one. IV maybe? I love that arrangement of the Returning To the Stars that you posted. Another SMRPG song that I love is Here's Some Weapons. It's super difficult to choose just one song from the game!

I have played Chrono Trigger, and it's a wonderful RPG if you are interested in turn-based ones with a long and epic story and obviously, good music. I haven't played Chrono Cross, but I have listened to the OST a bunch of times. Those ones are both REALLY good! I'm going to add them to my playlist! Thanks for the links! :D

I am gonna post some of my fav Chrono Trigger songs:
Corridors of Time
Yearnings of the Wind (probably one of my top video game songs ever)
Schala's Theme

Have you ever listened to a song that was just grating instead of enjoyable? I have a few of those. Hometown Story's shop theme really gets to me after a few minutes. I had this one on hand because I was thinking about what songs are my favorite in the Harvest Moon series/spin-offs and this one misses the list by far haha. I will come up with a few more and post them later.
