About

Want to give your shrine a new look with a fresh spin? Here at Amassment's second layout swap marathon, you can give your website a special touch by making and receiving a layout from another member! The layout swap marathon was a highly enjoyed event back in 2009 (then manned by Lorelei of piratejewel.net and Chrissy of reflera.org) and is back at the request of many members. It's a fun way to get to know other members, try something new, and be creative!

Rules
  • Specify the website(s) of which you are requesting a layout for. Letting members pick from a variety is recommended.
  • The number of layout requests you are making is also the number of layout requests you are fulfilling. For example, if one requests layouts for three websites, s/he would have to make three layouts in return.
  • Since using fanart in layouts is a very controversial topic (because people have different opinions on what is considered stolen or not), to avoid all complications, we ask that you may not use any fanart unless you drew it yourself.
  • Please keep who you are making a layout for a secret! This is one of the fun parts of the event. Once you are finished making it, you can send it to either Todd or Joe to give it anonymously to the person you made the layout for OR you can send it to the person yourself with our e-mails CC'd.
  • Once you receive your layout, you are required to put it online for a minimum of three weeks. The start date for this time period is anytime after the event has ended.
  • Upon completion, you must also create a matching 200 x 40 banner (to link with in the results page) and a list of credits of which resources you used, if applicable.
Sign-up

To sign up for this event, please PM or e-mail Todd or Joe. If you can't make the deadline and need to drop out, make sure you inform us! :) If you drop out without completing a layout but the other person has finished yours, you will have to pay him/her 50 coins.

Despite what the dates indicate, layout swap is still indefinitely open for sign-ups! The original post will be changed accordingly to reflect the revisions as soon as the events staff can decide on dates.

Hey, everyone!

Due to the small number of sign-ups, unfortunately, the events team has decided to postpone this activity until the spring. We understand that this time of the year is the time when everyone's really busy, and we also have too many events going on right now. However, Secret Santa, a similar event to Layout Swap, is occuring right now, so if you want to partake in a smaller event, that would be your place to go.

If you have already signed up for the event, we'll keep your applications and roll them through once we pick up this activity again.

Sorry and thanks!
