Somewhat relatedly, I was wondering what's up with the standard of 88 x 31 and how did it begin, and I found something that sheds some light on the history of website buttons. Guess what, it's because of Geocities!

Still no idea as to why it was picked to be 88 x 31 in the first place, but there's at least an explanation as to how it became the standard size!

Wow, this is super interesting! I never knew about that. I always thought the dimensions were kind of odd, but that solves this mystery, haha!
