The Foundational Elements of Spira

Post by SnowRayjah »

I wanted this to be a lot more reflective than I feel it turned out to be. The truth is that I feel little inspiration to write anymore for it. And I don't think I could do it anymore without getting to critical in things that are irrelevant to the site. Please excuse the ridiculously long title, it amuses me.

Need affiliates? :D /no shame, man.

Wow, Snow! I'm impressed! The site is very pretty, informative, and thought-inducing. I never thought about all of the elements but water having a Summon. I think leaving water out may have been intentional in the game, though. Like Tidus is represented by the sun, Yuna is represented by the moon in Final Fantasy X. The items you need to power up her ultimate weapon are called the Moon Crest and Moon Sigil. The gravitational pull of the moon affects water (making waves), and with Yuna walking on water, rising on water during a Sending, etc, I've always associated Yuna with water. Nevermind that Spira is at least 80% water, as everything seems to be islands surrounded by oceans.

I love that you touched on the theme of sacrifice. It's super important in Final Fantasy X, and you did a wonderful job covering it. I found some typos on your site, so you might want to do a spell check. I can help you find them if you want, though. Just let me know!

Anyway, if you're interested, you can affiliate with Poltergeist! I'd love to affiliate with your site; it's super unique, and I think my site's visitors would really enjoy it.

Also, I made you a button, just because. I know this site was super personal for you with the attachment you had to your uncle, and I just wanted to do something nice to say congrats on finishing it.

Thank you, Todd! I always think about the lack of water aeon - usually the water summon is Cherri's favorite and I remember her being so mad that it was missing. I've just had years to contemplate why that was! I really do like that you bring up Yuna as symbol of water, I hadn't thought of it nor do I think water with her (I think gentle light) though I definitely see your point! Maybe I'll find a way to include that into this one day.

I think I went through and got all the typos, but its 6 AM so I may have missed a few. Also, I probably missed a few FFX specific spellings because my spell check isn't set to all the super unique words of the FF world.

I definitely want to affiliate with Poltergeist! And, thank you for the button. It's lovely!

Never worry about tl;dr with me - I love to read!

This is awesome! I like your page about the water, makes me wonder where it is. At least electricity is there.

I know, I know! I've played them all from I to IX except Before Crisis, which was never translated. I also played Tactics, Tactics Advance, Dissidia and Dissidia 012. I have been meaning to play X since forever, the opportunity has just never come up. I'll definitely get it whenever some spare $ makes itself available, it's been a long time, but I've never doubted that one day I'll definitely play it.
