Yessss ;_; I am excited to see thissss.  I haven't played this game yet and will be unable to for awhile, but I went ahead and read through it anyway. I think it reads really clearly, and I love how the content is separated and just how personal this shrine is!

I really adore the layout for this and the color scheme. The blue hues are so beautiful and peaceful, and the yellow text pops out so nicely! Also the name is gorgeous! I love all the little details like the little decal just before the footer and the images to the left of Lunafreya's profile in the introduction section and the quotes from the game. The design is gorgeous. :star:

The content was such an enjoyable read. Your symbolism page is probably my favorite section. I like that you took the time to compare symbols associated with Luna to other games in the series. It's interesting to see the significance of these symbols in other titles and characters. I especially enjoyed reading about the flowers and your comparisons to Aerith's flowers and the comparisons to other Final Fantasy characters. The later sections about her role in the movie and game are fantastic as well, and I enjoyed how you presented her potential and shortcomings. I also really love that you provided links to external resources based on criticism for the game and movie when discussing various points of the plot.

@Jae: Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it :content: This is definitely one of those sites that ended up with a lot of personality; my opinions got all over it, haha. (And haha, I couldn't resist that jab at Advent Children -- I love it dearly, I really do, but, well. It knows what it is.)

@Masao: Thanks so much! :music2: I'm glad you could follow it even without knowing the game; I tried to provide enough context for everything, although that was tricky at points.

And I'm really glad that came across! I do genuinely like Luna a lot, I just have a lot of criticism for how her story was handled, sob. I'm all about criticizing the things I love, really.

I think this is my favorite blockquote I've done in a long while :content:

@Megan:    Thank you! I really am glad it's reading well to those who haven't played the game, since it's always tricky to give enough context.

I'm also really glad you liked the symbolism section! I don't usually write sections like that -- I've always found them really tricky, but there were some easy associations I could make with Luna that gave me a lot to talk about.

Thank you all for your kind comments! :star:  :music: :music2:

Yayyyy I'm so glad you finished her!! I love the way you write content--I can't put my finger on what it is about your style that I love so much, but it's something!! Luna was the only reason I was (sort of) interested in this game, so I was disappointed after finding out how she was handled, etc. :( Maybe I'll still play the game one of these days...

It was interesting to read your page on Stella, too. I swore I remembered a different girl back in the day, so at least I know I'm not crazy!

Final Fantasy XV is the fifteenth numbered entry in the long-running Final Fantasy series, as you might have guessed from the name.
Not that I needed any convincing, but if I had any doubt that this was going to be anything but fantastic, the very first phrase of the first section already sold me.

So, not caring about spoilers since I don't think I'm going to play this game (and if I am, that's gonna be 20 years from now so who cares anyway), and me not being into Final Fantasy anyway, I read all of this site while I knew nothing about what it was going to be about, and I think you've managed to give a pretty fantastic presentation of this character and of what you liked and disliked about the game. Especially, I admire the way you presented the things you dislike. It's important to call things what they are, and I think it's really important to have a fansite where you can be also critical of the source material while obviously liking the character enough to write all of this.

(Regarding site content which contains spoilers)
SPOILERSPOILER_SHOW
When I saw that there was a section named "Ice", and reading other things you've dropped in other pages, I had a guess about what was going to be about, and even how you were gonna tackle it.......... and I was right. omfg I'm so sorry.

I'm reminded of this friend of mine who was playing FF7 and said "Aerith is my favorite character!" DURING that infamous cutscene, so she literally died on screen pretty much within a minute of him stating how much he liked her fgahsdjkalsd I'm so sorry that this happened to you. Why do we have to suffer.

In any case, excellent work, and thanks for the great read!

paws at all of this

as you know, I cannot read a thing because I'm trying (trying) to get through this game, but I am here to tell you how much I love the layout. The image you chose is excellent for the symmetry (which I secretly love), and you've really made the smaller text space work for you. Luna being so small compared to her backdrop makes me think of her being the one that stands alone, which makes me pre-emptively sad :( this poor girl

In short I really, reaaaally like it and can't wait to read everything <3

Congrats on this, Larissa! I really, really loved how you approached this shrine. Lunafreya is really tough character to justify, and I'm glad you've pointed out the flaws in the storytelling and the development of the character, rather than just the character herself. You've always been honest and sincere in your analyses, so I was incredibly excited to see this shrine launched!

I think I enjoyed your page on Noctis the most; I feel like the romance aspect of this story was overshadowed by all the rage and wtf's of the story that no one has made a decent point (at least to me) about it. So thank you for that!

I know I've mentioned this to you before, but this layout is so beautiful  The photo you picked was a smart choice, what with the symbolic imagery of the moon and all :)

And holy jesus, I did not know Ravus did a 180 in the game from his movie counterpart. It's like they're not even the same character anymore. Wowwww.

Sorry for the late response - life stuff has kept me away.

@Samantha: Thank you! I'm glad you like my writing style. Luna was the main reason I was interested in the game too, and my frustration with how she was handled is pretty much what spurred this site, haha.

@dubs: Thanks  I have always been big on being able to write critically about even the things you really like, and this site was very much an exercise in that, haha. Reading back through the site now after a couple weeks, I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

@Rems:  :star:  Thank yooou. That was definitely the symbolism I was going for, haha! Now finish the game so you can read it ;)

@Stefi: Thank you! This was a site where I knew I couldn't just talk about the character; I had to provide context and go from there. I'm glad it came out well  I'm also super glad you liked the Noctis page! I found the romance to be pretty lacking myself, honestly, but that made it interesting to analyze.

I don't even know what they were thinking with Ravus, man. Seriously, WTF.

Thank you all so much  :star:  :!:

I know I already said this to you, but I love this. The layout is gorgeous. And I love the styling on the quotes.

It's such a great read – I know I was so let down by how Square-Enix handled her story and the waste of such an interesting character. Reading this is a good way to deal with that, haha. It's weird to like a game SO MUCH and yet dislike so much of what they did with it. You've done such a good job of balancing that, though. Critical but not relentlessly negative, you know? It's a very engaging read.

Reading the introduction of your shrine has given me an idea for a Baby's First Dating Sim In Twine idea, so I'm sorry thank you, Larissa!!!
