@Mikari I used to love it, too, but I've always enjoyed making content more...I'm more naturally a writer than an artist, and that contrast has only been exacerbated in the last few years. Now my attitude toward layouts is "one every year or so is a gracious plenty." Making an individual layout just exhausts my brain more than making content does.

Also, the sore lack of good pictures to use for layouts in some of my fandoms is another reason layouts exhaust me. SO MUCH image research and nothing to show for it, usually! >_<

Oh the lack of good images for the lesser knowns, aka "The Problem Children". I go through this too. Hard to make it work but it's doable....mostly. I love making layouts and then I'm like "I have nothing to use this for!" Or I make the layouts and that's it. The site has a title, an outline and a layout but no content.

THIS IS ACTUALLY THE MAIN REASON WHY I STARTED DOING DIGITAL ARTWORK
I couldn't find any artwork for the layouts I wanted to make so I made my own!

I can't even get a good grasp on my ONE layout for my marathon shrine. /AUGH/
Good luck to you with multiple sites!! :D Maybe just focus on one at a time and go from there??

@Nyx YEP! The heartache of having a great site and having crappy low-quality JPEGs to pull from...if you're lucky!

@Cherri I used to make random layouts all the time...I'm wondering "where did all that energy go?" (Maybe into housework and decluttering? LOL)

@DD AWESOME! If I was patient and any good with mouse control/trackpad control, I'd probably do digital artwork for my sites, too. Unfortunately my digital artwork ends up looking like "HAY I MADE A THING THERES COLORS ON IT YAAAAAY"

@Destinie I'm going to try that approach--I actually had a BRILLIANT idea for the Clefairy shrine last night, and I'm going to look up some screenshots to see if it's workable. (If it is, y'all will hear the shout of joy no matter where you are in the world! :P)

I started out as an artist, got into writing, wrote a lot, then got back into being an artist and I'm more into that now. I doubt I'll ever go back to writing as much as I used to, but drawing is what I initially wanted so I'm happy to do more of it. XD I just have to pace myself with layouts and let a layout stay up for a while before changing it.
