John Green and other authors whose books tear your heart out

So... did anyone read The Fault in Our Stars and bawled their eyes out at the end?

I've read some of his other stuff, which are all in the same 'John Green' voice, but are still pretty good nonetheless.

Anyone have recs for good, heart-felt, borderline chick-lit, sometimes-woefully-sad books they'd like to share?

I LOVED The Fault in Our Stars. I read it in one night, haha! I don't think I have ever ever cried that much about anything. < /3 Aguuuustuuuus. I really hope the movie adaptation will deliver. It was a little predictable in places, it reminded me a lot of "A Walk to Remember", but I liked it even better than that book!

The other books I have by John Green:
Looking for Alaska - I read this diretcly after TfiOS and I wasn't as blown away, it was still pretty good. I feel like I would have enjoyed this more if I was a teen boy lol.
Papertowns - I purchased this but I haven't read it yet (bought the Maze Runner at the same time, so I am currently reading this lol.)
